Party talks to Cantor to try to get leads, Cantor says

  * Artifacts mentioned in [[note:coronation_scroll|Coronation Scroll]] scatter and go to where fit best in event of untimely death of the emperor
  * Sentient kinda

Party showed Cantor the [[note:sigil_of_the_ashen_coven|Sigil of the Ashen Coven]] on JB 
Cantor says

  * JB is not an anchor  
  * Anchor mark is NOT the ashen coven sigil,  
    * Ashen coven sigil on body is a sign of corruption  
    * Will Cause Visions  
    * Not time based, it’s event/circumstance based  
  * He also said , **“We all carry the scars on our backs”** to JoyBoy.

    

  * Flame is like a parasite  
    * More corruption more powerful  
  * One of the symbols from the ritual diagram in [[note:lady_maeva_marrows_papers|Lady Maeva Marrow's Papers]]  is underneath church in catacombs 
  * Need to take first anchor there  
  * Also cantor has black voids where his eyes should be (**neat**)  
    * At some point he said he hadn’t seen the ashen coven magic in centuries (weird)

Party goes to the regency council

  * Talk to [[character:general_tharos_blackmantle|tharos]] to talk to [[character:chancellor_verena_lys|Verena]]  
  * Hear [[character:chancellor_verena_lys|Verena]] discussing with some dude behind door  
  * Talk to [[character:chancellor_verena_lys|verena]]  
  * She’s talking with a wizard robe dude  
  * We ask about silver haired anchorwoman  
    * Silver haired woman is named Serene  
    * She’s probably at the tavern  
  * Parsons sends a couple of dudes out

Talk to Parsons

  * Parsons is head mage  
  * Parsons knows Gimbol and is uncomfortably friendly with him  
    * Gimbol hates that dude  
  * JB is lies to Parsons to hide what we’re up to,  
  * Lying made JB sweat a LOT  
  * Parson is sus

On their way to the tavern the party hears a woman in the alley in trouble

  * Two men with dust swirling around their feet  
  * They draw their swords and threaten the woman to go with them  
    * Shadows around her flash, a flame flickers in her eyes  
    * Attacker slashes at her  
    * before hits it stops  
    * Blade held in place metal heats glow red  
  * Its serene  
    * In a voice that's not hers  
    * **“She is not yours to harm”**  
    * The attackers get hurled against the wall  
      * Anchors are protected apparently  
    * Red and gold sparks burst as they hit the wall and disappear  
    * They were parsons two guys

Party takes takes serene back to church, she’s havin a bad time

  * Says saw a scepter in vision, fiery line around it  
    * Some dark place  
    * Stone room  
    * Glowing symbols on wall

She remembers she was in [[faction:stormcall_clans|stormclan]] storm peak observatory

  * She felt like she was falling, pushed off observatory   
  * stopped before hit ground  
  * She has amulet used to have magical properties of protection, very little magic left  
  * She's always had it, doesn't remember where why she has it  
  * Maybe we need a relic related to the anchor in question

Party decides to go straight to the catacomb

  * goto basement  
  * Find stones that don't belong  
  * Church person found party and melted the stonework to let party in

Party peaced out cuz sleepy, JB stays at basement catacomb entrance

At shadowsong mansion

  * Sol’s patron says she didn't get the clergy souls  
  * Scratches her face  
    * How rude

Sol and Vesper talk about her patron situation  
Get back to catacombs  
its kinda lit (literally)\\
First room
  * See creature probably a demon, seems chill, invites party in  
  * Nevermind he’s tryna kill us  
  * Prolly sent by sol’s patron  
  * Party beat a hellhound  
  * Talk-no-jutsu demon peaces out

Enter next room

  * It’s where serene saw staff n’ stuff  
  * Glyphs around

Party gets in place for ritual

  * Vesper voice  
  * Sol nest  
  * Gimbol sight  
  * JB will

  * 1st paragraph Old relics levitating shoot out shards everyone hit  
  * 2nd paragraph column of flame  
  * 3rd prargraph' creature summoned shadow flame humanoid  
    * flame echo  
      * Looks neat  
  * We are getting thrashed  
    * Creature flames the  floor, gimbal and vesper go down  
  * They see vision  
    * “The anchors are mine, you can’t have them”  
      * Oracle probably  
  * Gimbal sees shadowy figure of dwarf  
    * Reaches out asks for help  
    * “Find me”  
    * Disappears  
  * Vesper sees the carnival, sees themself as they remember it  
    * “You will remember again, save it.”  
  * Gimbol saves vesper  
    * Vesper will remember this  
      * My future emperor  
    * pulls vesper’s mask for potion, sees vesper’s face
